Around 730,000 people are employed as temporary workers in the Netherlands each year. Collectively they fill 1.3 million jobs, working an average of 22 weeks and 30 hours per week. You are one of them.
Profile of temporary workers
Workers of all ages are employed via staffing agencies. 255,000 people find permanent jobs through temporary work. Over 250,000 are not looking for a permanent job. Without temporary workers, the economy would run a lot less smoothly!
Varied work situations
Temporary work is varied work. Flexibility is the great strength of temporary workers! At the same time, your changeable work situations have a hidden danger. You are perhaps less aware of the health and safety risks that you run. The variety of new colleagues, different workplaces and high demands of managers can cause you to lose sight of the importance of pleasant and safe conditions at work.
Keep health and safety in mind at work
Together with the companies that you work for (the user companies), recruitment agencies and STAF adopt initiatives and measures to make your workplace as healthy and safe as possible. Employment agencies and user companies bear an important responsibility in this regard. You yourself are also responsible for your own safety while you work. Therefore, always follow the safety instructions you are given and ask for explanations if there is anything you do not understand. The list shows the roles that you, the agency and the user company play in respect of your safety in the workplace.
